Preparation
Preparations vary depending on the type of examination and the clinical information provided by your physician. When you book your appointment, we will tell you specifically how to prepare.
You do not need to be fasting.
Contraindication
Pregnancy is a relative contraindication. In this case, another imaging method can be proposed, such as ultrasound or magnetic resonance.
Please be sure to notify us if you are pregnant.
Also, please let us know if you are allergic to iodine, or if you suffer from kidney disease.
What to expect of a CT Scan
After the initial greeting, you will be directed to our CT waiting room where you will be asked to put on a gown. A questionnaire will be given to you. For the examination, you will lie on a large table that slides you through a short cylinder from which X-rays are emitted.
If deemed necessary by the radiologist, your examination will be done with intravenous injection of iodinated contrast solution. At that time, we will give you a medical history questionnaire.
The information obtained is converted into radiological images which are then interpreted by the radiologist
